This is more of a windows program-mac compatibility, rather than a mac program-windows compatibility (because we all know that everything apple makes is universally compatible, not so for Microsoft, which is why apple ROCKS!) but anyways.got a little sidetracked hehe: Why is it that when I try to download Windows Media Player 9.0 for OS X: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/windowsmediaplayerformacosx.html it downloads as Windows Media.sitx, which is a windows application because it is unable to open it in OS X.isn't it supposed to be FOR OS X? Any help would be great, thank you!

If you want to reinstall Windows Media Player, try the following:

  1. Click the Start button, type features, and select Turn Windows features on or off.

  2. Mount and blade load textures on demand. Scroll down and expand Media Features, clear the Windows Media Player check box, and click OK.

  3. Restart your device. Windows Media Player should be uninstalled.

  4. Repeat step 1.

  5. Scroll down and expand Media Features, select the Windows Media Player check box, and click OK.

  6. Restart your device. Windows Media player should now be reinstalled.
